Atlanta Gold & Coin Buyers is excited to introduce the launch of our new automated coin and bullion selling feature to better serve our customers; the latest offering from Atlanta’s premier coin dealer. A press release highlighting the new feature was recently shared with various media outlets, but we wanted to go into further detail regarding the specifics of the application, its capabilities and the reason behind launching it.
Why We Launched the Feature
First and foremost, providing superior customer service is our primary goal. Up until recently, customers were able to e-mail, call or contact us through our website, but there was not an option available for individuals to automatically lock in their selling rates. Furthermore, prior to releasing the new application, customers interested in selling coins online were asked to contact us before mailing in their items. The new automated selling feature eliminates these issues by giving customers 24 hour access to our “buying desk,” which features a list of the most common coins, bars and rounds that we purchase. Buying rates are automatically updated every 10 minutes while the market is open, so you can be assured that you’re receiving up-to-the-minute accurate prices. Our buying rates remain the same after the market closes until it reopens the next business day, which provides individuals with the ability to lock in their rates and sell their items after hours. While the new feature has only been available for a couple of weeks, we’ve already had a number of customers use it and have received positive feedback on the ease of use.
As mentioned in the press release, we love to hear from our customers, and this new feature should in no way deter customers from contacting us through other means, such as e-mail, phone, etc. We simply realized that individuals may be limited in their ability to contact us during regular business hours, may prefer using an automated feature, and/or may want to take advantage of locking in prices intraday based on how the commodities market may be performing.
How it Works
Now that we’ve discussed why we launched the feature, we’ll go into the nitty gritty as to how it works. If you’ve done business with Atlanta Gold & Coin Buyers in the past, you may be familiar with our live online coin buying rates. We take pride in being the only coin dealer in Atlanta and one of the few in the nation that post our coin buying rates online. This page provides up-to-the-minute coin buying rates on the most common coins and bullion that we buy and sell. The rates page is organized by type of item (coin vs. bullion), precious metals content (i.e. gold, silver, platinum, palladium, etc.) and the size or denomination of the item. We encourage you to scroll through the page so that you familiarize yourself with our buying rates and the options available on this page. Once you do so, and assuming that you’re in agreement with our offer prices, you can click on this link to begin the process of selecting the type and quantity of items that you wish to sell. Additionally, we provide you with the option to schedule an appointment at one of our two convenient metro Atlanta offices or to mail your items to us. An e-mail is automatically generated and sent to you once you’ve completed the coin and bullion selling form.
Rare Coins
One of the primary benefits in dealing with Atlanta Gold & Coin Buyers is that we’re coin experts. This means that we’re able to identify coins that are valued above and beyond the underlying precious metals content of the item due to various factors, such as the type, year, mint mark and the condition of the coin. In fact, for those individuals that wish to do their research in advance, we have recently completed and published a rare coin guide, which can be found on the homepage of our website. However, if you don’t have the time to sort through your coins, we’ll be happy to do so at the time of your appointment. Furthermore, we pay premium rates for coins that have been graded by third party grading companies, such as PCGS and NGC. In fact, we just recently met with a customer who completed the form on our coin selling page, and upon meeting with him, realized that some of his coins were professionally graded, for which we paid an additional premium. While not always the case, there may be the opportunity to receive a higher payout than expected due to the rarity or condition of your coins, which we’ll evaluate for you at the time of your appointment. Conversely, if you happen to have any off quality items, we reserve the right to adjust our offer price, but this only applies to damaged or worn items.
Other Items Not Listed
The last point that we wanted to make is that we frequently purchase items that aren’t included on our coin buying rates page. While the coin selling application features the most common coins and bullion that we purchase, it shouldn’t be viewed as an exhaustive list. In fact, we’ll purchase any coins, bullion, rounds or bars consisting of precious metals regardless of the condition, manufacturer or country of origin. Furthermore, as one of Atlanta’s leading rare coin dealers, we frequently purchase rare and numismatic U.S. and foreign coins composed of other metals, such as copper and nickel, which have little to no metal value. Rather, their value is derived from the coin’s rarity, condition and historical significance. Our coin selling page isn’t meant to capture these types of coins, so the best approach to take with a rare coin collection is to call 404-236-9744 or e-mail us at sales@atlantagoldandcoin.com. We’ll meet with you in person and evaluate your coins, and value them on an individual basis.
Summary
In conclusion, we’re extremely excited to be able to offer our customers a new streamlined process in which to sell their coins and bullion. To recap, once you visit our coin buying rates page and become familiar with our buying rates, the next step is to click on the coin selling link and add the quantity and type of items to your cart that you wish to sell. Once you submit your form, we’ll follow up based on the contact preference requested, and you’ll be well on your way to receiving competitive prices for valuables. As a reminder, we pay premium rates for coins that warrant above standard rates. You’re more than welcome to research these coins in advance of your appointment or shipping your coins, or we’ll be happy to do so at the time of your appointment or when your coins arrive. Lastly, it should be noted that the coin selling application doesn’t include all of the coins and bullion that we purchase, so we welcome you to contact us if the item or items that you wish to sell aren’t listed or if you have any problems identifying them.
