Don’t Try Timing the Market When Buying or Selling Coins

We hear it time and time again – “I should have bought when…” or “I should have sold when…” The issue is that the coin and bullion market, much like the stock market, is driven by greed and fear. These are two of an investor’s worst enemies and normally result in regret.

The reality is that no one knows where the price of gold and silver, or for that matter, any precious metal will go in the short-term, as there are many factors that can affect prices.

As an example, we heard from a gentleman that first contacted us when palladium hit an all-time high of around $3,400 in March of 2022. He reached out a short time later when palladium dropped a hair below $3,000 and decided to hold off until the price reached $3,000 again. Unfortunately, that never happened, with prices presently trading around a third of its all-time high.

Of course, if Russia (the largest producer of palladium) bans exports in the future, we could see prices once again approach the $3,000 level, but the future, along with the price of palladium, remains uncertain.

The bottom line is that if you believe that you’re receiving a fair deal on your coin collection or if you’re able to acquire coins at reasonable rates (especially if you’re able to lock in substantial profits), we recommend that you proceed at that time, as you might not have the same opportunity in the future.

Give us a call or email today if we can help with your acquisition or sale of your coins or coin collection!
