Silver bullion can take many forms, including coins, rounds, bars, and ingots. Fortunately, there’s a silver bullion dealer in Atlanta to whom you can sell your silver bullion in any form at industry leading rates, and that Atlanta coin dealer is Atlanta Gold & Coin Buyers.

While our name may indicate otherwise, we buy and sell more silver bullion coins, bars, and rounds than any other product that we specialize in, which is one of the reasons why we’re viewed as a silver bullion expert. Not only do we keep our pulse on the price of silver in the precious metals market, but we also post our silver bullion buying rates online, so that you’ll know at any point in time what we’re willing to offer you for your coins, bars, and rounds.

Not all silver bullion is created equally, which is why we pay different rates for various forms of silver bullion.  Leading the pack are American silver eagles.  These coins are among the highest minted and most recognized silver coins in the United States, and as such, we the highest rates for these coins.  Following the American silver eagles in order or price and popularity are Canadian silver maple leafs and other .999 fine sovereign issued silver coins.  Sovereign issued coins are government minted coins, which carry a premium over privately minted coins, as the country of origin guarantees the weight and purity of the coins.

Sovereign issued silver coins are followed closely in price by bars and rounds issued by well known private refiners, such as Johnson Matthey and Engelhard.  As you would expect, the more recognizable the silver bullion, the higher the price.  Johnson Matthey and Engelhard issued bars and rounds are recognized throughout the nation as highly reputable producers of silver bullion, and as such, are bought and sold at higher prices than generic silver bullion bars and rounds.

In the same range of .999 fine silver bars and rounds are Morgan and Peace dollars.  While some of these coins are lower mintage coins that sell at a premium due to their collectible value, most of these coins are common date and tend to sell at standard rates.  Don’t just sell your Morgan and Peace dollars to anyone.  Make sure that the silver bullion dealer with whom you’re working is also a silver coin expert to ensure that you receive the best prices for your old silver dollars.

Morgan and Peace silver dollars are followed in price by U.S. dimes, quarters, and half dollars minted prior to 1964, which are commonly referred to as junk silver.  Junk silver coins can be bought and sold by weight or by the coin, but the most common way to sell junk silver coins is by the face value of the coins.  For example, price quotes are commonly made as a multiple of the face value of the coins, so if a silver coin dealer is offering you 18 times face value for your Morgan and Peace dollars, they’re offering you $18 per coin.

Other silver bullion coins that are commonly bought and sold, but that may be in less demand than the above silver coins are foreign silver coins that contain less than .999 fine silver, such as Canadian silver coins minted prior to 1968 and Great Britain coins minted prior to 1947.  Additionally, U.S. minted coins that contain less silver content, such as 40% silver Kennedy half dollars minted from 1965 – 1970 and silver war nickels minted from 1942 – 1945 can typically be bought and sold at lower prices.
