How to Identify the Best Atlanta Coin Dealers

If you do a search in any of the major search engines for the term “Atlanta Coin Dealers” you’ll come across a number of different options, but how do you know that you’re doing business with a reputable coin dealer that is willing to pay you a competitive rate for your gold, silver, platinum and collectible coins?

A good place to begin is to check the coin dealer’s status with the Better Business Bureau.  As you may know, companies who have chosen to become members of the BBB have agreed to be held to the highest ethical standards in the industry.  Is the Atlanta coin dealer that you’re considering not a member of the BBB?  If that’s the case, it might be best if you consider other coin dealers in Atlanta.

Another consideration is if the coin dealer you’re considering is a member of coin industry organizations, such as the American Numismatic Association.  Not only do these organizations have high standards of their own, but they also provide educational resources which can help to make your chosen coin dealer an expert in their field.

Once you’re comfortable that the coin buyer is in good standing with third party organizations, the next step is to obtain feedback from the Atlanta Coin Dealers’ customers.  While it may not be possible to speak with these individuals, online sites, such as Kudzu.com, Yelp, and Merchant Circle, oftentimes contain testimonials and reviews from previous customers.

If you’ve come this far and your selected coin dealer still appears to be a good option, it’s now time to obtain the coin dealer’s rates.  Ideally, they should be posted on the coin dealer’s website, but if not, a simple phone call should be sufficient to obtain this information.  If you’re unable to obtain buying rates from either source, it’s best that you move on.

Lastly, the Atlanta coin dealer that you’re working with should follow through with their quoted offer.  If a reasonable explanation can be provided for differing rates, that’s fine, but if it’s clearly a bait and switch technique, then you should immediately leave and find another coin dealer that has the integrity to stand by their quoted rates.

We hope that the above information was helpful, and that when it’s time to sell your gold or silver coins, you’ll consider contacting Atlanta Gold and Coin Buyers, one of the industry leading and top Atlanta coin dealers.  We can be reached at 404-236-9744 or via e-mail at sales@atlantagoldandcoin.com.  We look forward to hearing from you and earning your business!
