We often get asked how one should sell their gold and silver coins and bullion. While this is a valid question, the question that sellers of coins and bullion should be asking is “To Whom Should I Sell My Coins and Bullion?â€Â This will be the determining factor in the price that you receive for your valuables.
We’re of the opinion that you should only consider selling your valuables to a company that has gone through the process of becoming affiliated with the Better Business Bureau. These companies have agreed to be bound by the strict guidelines established by the BBB, and have their reputations on the line, so they are more likely to treat their customers fairly.
We also believe that you should only deal with coin buyers and dealers that are forthright with the prices that they are willing to pay for your coins. In our opinion, the preferred approach is to post on their website the prices that dealers are willing to pay for your coins. While not possible to list prices on all of the coins available in the marketplace, general ranges should be provided on some of the most common coins.
Do you have any extremely rare or valuable coins for which you should be receiving a premium? Coin dealers know most of this information off the top of their heads, and should be willing to share this information with their customers.   We use in all of our transactions, The Blue Book, which is officially titled “A Handbook of United States Coins.â€Â Coin dealers should be willing to share with customers the same information that they have access to so that sellers can be assured that they’re receiving a fair price for their coins and bullion.
